It’s tough to find a more notable bucket list Disneyland restaurant than the Blue Bayou Restaurant! This atmospheric dining experience in New Orleans Square sits within the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction near the bayou and boarding area of the ride. This historic and gorgeous restaurant opened in 1967 and now serves as inspiration for many other atmospheric dining experiences that you can find at Disney Parks worldwide. While this iconic restaurant is more divisive these days when it comes to quality and service, one of our most recent reviews tried to settle the debate of whether or not a visit is still worth your time.

One of the most famous Disney restaurants in the world and serving as inspiration for many other atmospheric dining experiences that followed, Blue Bayou remains legendary to this day. But does it hold up after all this time? We recently visited and found an answer!
After a long hiatus, Fantasmic! is returning to Disneyland on May 24th!
Fantasmic! in Disneyland
It’s been over a year since Disneyland’s version of Fantasmic! closed after the Maleficent dragon erupted in fire, and we’re excited to see the show return with some changes. Disney announced that Fantasmic! Dining Packages would also be returning, and now it looks like even more restaurants have been added to that lineup!
After a year-long hiatus, a popular Disneyland offering is about to return!

In April 2023, tragedy struck Disneyland Park when the Fantasmic! dragon went up in flames, causing the nighttime spectacular to be shelved for over a year. After a long wait, Fantasmic! is finally returning on May 24th, 2024 and it appears its dining packages are coming back in full force, as well!
Here at the Disney Food Blog, we take Disney food SERIOUSLY, and no matter how good we find a restaurant to be, we will always revisit to see if the quality holds. So come with us as we do just that at a Disneyland dining staple!
Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland
Disneyland Park is home to several popular attractions and, of course, some delicious restaurants. One of those restaurants is Plaza Inn! Located on Main Street, U.S.A., this restaurant opened with the park in 1955 (it was then called the Red Wagon Inn) and is still the only place in Disneyland Park to experience character dining. We recently visited our favorite Disneyland counter service location to see if it still holds up in 2024, and we have a lot to report!
Okay, so you’ve probably heard us say it before, but when it comes to good food, Disneyland might just outrank Disney World.
New Orleans Square
Now, don’t get us wrong — we LOVE the food in Disney World, but Disneyland has some unique offerings you can only find on the West Coast. The corn dogs are CLASSIC and The churros are 🔥🔥🔥. There’s also Blue Bayou, which lets you eat INSIDE the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Well, if you were planning on dining there soon, you might want to re-think your plans.
The Disney Parks are an exciting place, that’s for sure.
