14 Closures That Could Impact Your Next Disney World Vacation

Disney World is undergoing quite a few changes right now. Construction is underway for Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, and the Monsters, Inc. Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As a result, several attractions are permanently closed in Disney World. Plus, other attractions and experiences are also closed for refurbishment!

In 2024, I had a really bizarre restaurant experience in Disney World.

As one of the reporters on our team, I visit restaurants around Disney World frequently to do dining reviews, and in January 2024, I was tasked with going to Big River Grille on the BoardWalk. At the time, this was a rather under-the-radar spot that wasn’t often talked about, so I was eager to experience it for myself. REVIEW: We Would Like To Request This Disney World Treat for Dessert Every Night

We always love trying out seasonal items around Disney World! There is definitely no shortage of limited-time items available in Disney World right now. From exclusive treats at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to special Halloween finds at Disney Springs, we have been indulging in a lot of new food recently. Something new has also arrived at Disney’s BoardWalk, so we headed over to give it a try!

A new seasonal cake slice has arrived at The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, and we recently stopped by to give it a taste test! Introducing the Caramel Popcorn Chocolate Cake. This slice features chocolate cake with caramel, caramel buttercream, caramel drizzle, and caramel popcorn. You can grab it for $22. There is also an Apple Crumb Cake available, and you can also get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, but we decided on the Caramel Popcorn Chocolate Cake.

Okay, if you’re like us, you’re planning your Disney World vacations WAY in advance…like maybe even two years out (hey, I’m as guilty as anyone, but we ALL need Disney trips to look forward to, right?).

So you might be in the process of thinking about your 2027 Disney World trip — trust us, we won’t judge! Well, if you are, you’ll need to know something important about at least one Disney World hotel: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will have multiple parts of its resort under construction in 2027. 5 Disney World Buildings That Are STILL Abandoned

While Walt Disney World’s four theme parks are often full of guests that make it feel like every inch of them is packed, the truth is that all of them have abandoned buildings right smack dab in the middle of their busiest areas.

From a long-abandoned EPCOT pavilion to the husk of a several-times-transformed opening year Magic Kingdom attraction, these structures have been sitting empty for years — sometimes decades. In fact, in my 30 years of visiting Disney World, most of them have been vacant much longer than they were filled.

Disney World’s BoardWalk Will Be EMPTY Starting in November

One of my personal favorite Disney World Resorts is Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, you can visit the BoardWalk that has fun entertainment and plenty of food options. As a local, I grab food at the BoardWalk at least once a month (but usually more!).

Unfortunately, there are a lot of changes going on right now that are leading to fewer options. While I’ll be there even if Trattoria al Forno is the only restaurant open, lots of guests might be skipping the BoardWalk starting in November. What exactly is happening there?

SAD SNACK NEWS: A Popular Snack Just Disappeared From Disney World

Summer is passing, and fall has made its way to Disney World (at least in the decor). That means a lot of new food has popped up in Disney World to celebrate the most spookiest of seasons.
