Dine With an Imagineer is available at Flying Fish, and though the price has gone up, it still sounds like a wonderful experience!
Upcoming dates are: May 4th and 18th; and June 1st, 15th, and 29th. Cost is $85/person plus tax and gratuity. Call 407-WDW-Dine for reservations — seating is limited to 10 people.

Hi all! As you might know, I’m in Walt Disney World this weekend attending a Disney Media Culinary Event called:
I didn’t think I’d be back in Orlando until the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, so this is very exciting! Big thanks to those at Disney who extended such a gracious invitation to us to dine with them throughout the World!
I’ll be reporting here on the blog about the gourmet (and not-so-gourmet!) adventures of our little group — I know we’re headed to Flying Fish Cafe, Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Cape May Cafe, and Kouzzina, to name just a few!

Hello again! Chef BigFatPanda here with another Disney cooking adventure. This time, we are going to make Chocolate Chip Crumbcakes. These miniature cakes with semisweet chocolate chips originated at the Boardwalk Bakery in Walt Disney World. Many people suggest serving them with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream.

Portobello Restaurant, Downtown Disney
This dense, rich confection is called Chocolate Paradise, and is described on the menu as a rich chocolate layer cake with chocolate ganache & toffee crunch. Now, you all know me as a frosting-lover, and while this cake didn’t have much, the moistness of the cake itself nearly made up for it.
Also, rarely is a dessert “too rich” for me, but this one almost did me in. This is absolutely one of the most delicious chocolate cakes I’ve ever had — highly recommended the next time you’re in Downtown Disney. And, don’t worry — I’ll be highlighting my review of Portobello on the blog very soon!

Update: Flying Fish has instituted their Chef’s Counter, so book away!SamLand’s Disney Adventures
has included in a recent trip report post that Flying Fish Cafe might be using their open kitchen counter seats as a “Chef’s Counter” within the next couple of months!
Chef’s Counters at Disney’s signature restaurants are in the theme of the Victoria and Albert’s Chefs Table, though not quite as elaborate. I’m reporting this week from the Walt Disney World Media Event showcasing the new Give a Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer program! Last night was the kick-off event, and we heard some fun dining news and got to taste some great eats over at the ESPN Wide World of Sports! (Psst — if you just want to see pics from the kick-off party, scroll down.)
Disney Food News
Unfortunately, I didn’t hear any BRAND new Disney food news, but recently opened restaurants Kouzzina and Sanaa were mentioned, along with the upcoming Be Our Guest restaurant and Gaston’s Tavern, to be found in the new-and-improved Fantasyland in 2012.
Other fun mentions that some of you might not have heard about are the two new, “interactive” restaurants on board the brand new Disney Cruise Line cruise ship, The Disney Dream. These include the Enchanted Garden, which magically transforms your surroundings from early morning to a night sky while you dine, and the Skyline Lounge, which has walls that change to reflect a new city scape each day!
