Disney World is in the middle of working on its MASSIVE expansion plans. Piston Peak and Villains Land are coming to Magic Kingdom, Monstropolis is coming to Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas is coming to Animal Kingdom.

Cinderella Castle
Recently, Disney executives shared their thoughts on the current expansion projects at Walt Disney World, as well as what that means for the park’s future prices. Spoiler alert… they’re going UP! Let’s talk about what was said and what we can expect.
We’ve seen Disney World prices increase over the years, and the tickets are increasing again for Disney World in 2027. We hate to say it, but we’re going to have to get used to it, because it isn’t slowing down any time soon.

EPCOT
Recently, Disney CFO Hugh Johnson spoke about the Disney Company at the MoffettNathanson’s Media, Internet & Communications Conference. He went at legnth about everything happening across all the theme parks, the Disney Cruise Line, Disney entertainment and media, and more. One thing that stood out to us was his comments on Disney World prices following the completion of their massive expansion projects.

Tower of Terror
The expansions that are coming to three of the four Disney World parks are going to bring MANY brand-new experiences, attractions, and more, to guests. In fact, you could go as far as to say that Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom will look completely different when everything opens.

Monstropolis construction
It’s no secret that everyone will want to travel to Disney World to check out every new thing that the expansions are bringing. With the new experiences come higher demand from Disney fans, because we want to see what magic Disney has created that we’ve never seen before. That’s why Hugh Johnson said at the conference, “And in fact, it actually offers some ability to charge more because essentially, you’re offering something new that wasn’t there before.”

Piston Peak Construction
The CFO was pretty clear on the prices in the future for Disney. He stated, “Yes, we have the ability to grow attendance as we expand capacity. I would expect to see both pricing and attendance growth over any 3- or 4-year time frame.”

Encanto is coming to Animal Kingdom!
Look, we totally understand how increased prices aren’t ideal for us Disney fans and Disney goers. We don’t like seeing prices rise as much as the next person. However, the statement and idea that prices will rise make a lot of sense. Disney World is going to have twice as much to do when the expansion is done, offering so much more than it ever has!

It’s on its way!
It’ll be interesting to keep seeing this massive expansion unfold over however long it lasts. We’re always on top of all the latest Disney news and updates, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more!

I don’t like his attitude at all. The audacity! We didn’t ask for all these changes, mostly don’t like them or have any interest and absolutely don’t want to pay for them. We’re not going to the parks this year…too much construction, not letting us ride the buses, dtc. We can’t afford anymore price increases. They’ve taken too much away. All the perks we loved and miss. Walt created Disneyland for average, middle class Americans. Disney no longer cares about that. They only care about greed and making themselves and their stockholders wealthy and now it’s only the wealthy who can afford to go. I’m also stunned he suggests more people will attend. The parks already pack in guests like sardines. More would make enjoying the parks worse! Rude guests (mostly foreigners), people drinking, lack of etiquette…. Who needs it? The magic is mostly gone. It’s time we speak with our wallets and say….No More! Losing money is the only thing Disney will understand….it’s simply not fun anymore.
