Disney’s Hollywood Studios is VERY busy right now, and we’re not talking about crowds. There are a TON of construction projects happening in the park, including the building of a new Monsters, Inc. land, a reimagining of Animation Courtyard into The Walt Disney Studios, and a big ride change coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Speaking of which, that big ride change is happening SOON, and you’ll want to be aware of it for several reasons: it’s going to bring a lot of Star Wars fans to the park, and it’s going to feel like a completely different ride. Yes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is changing next week!
On May 22nd, Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run will have a brand new mission that features the Mandalorian and Grogu, in honor of the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The story still starts with Hondo Ohnaka, but the new story will have him telling you about a new bounty he wants you to collect by “borrowing” the Millennium Falcon and going on a mission with Din Djarin and Grogu.
This new mission will take you to some brand new locations, including Bespin’s Cloud City, Tatooine, Beggar’s Canyon, the remains of a Krayt Dragon, and what’s left of the Death Star. Each mission will feature its own location, and that will be chosen by the engineer position on the ride, who will also be communicating with Grogu while in flight. COOL.
What’s even cooler about this ride change is that the ride will not be closing in order to add these changes. Disney is updating the ride by staggering the changes so they’re ready by May 22nd. If you’ve been on Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run recently, you might have already started noticing some changes, including in the pre-show.
We’ll be in Hollywood Studios on May 22nd to get you ALL the details about the Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
