The Walt Disney Company encompasses so many industries that it can be hard to keep up with all the company’s big announcements. After all, there are theme parks and cruise ships, television, streaming, movies, and sports to keep up with.
Well, when it comes to television, Disney makes a lot of big announcements during its annual Upfront, which is when Disney presents its upcoming programming schedules to advertisers, which in turn allows those advertisers to buy time “up front.” Well, Disney’s 2026 upfront included a TON of announcements about what you can expect on Disney’s TV networks and streaming.
Let’s start with some big events coming up in 2026 that Disney will be hosting. The first big announcement is that Conan O’Brien will return to host the 99th Academy Awards in 2027. Meanwhile, Peyton and Eli Manning teased their participation in ESPN’s Super Bowl pre-game show in 2027. Live with Kelly and Mark will broadcast live from Santa Monica Pier the week leading up to the game. ESPN Beach will anchor coverage from the Santa Monica Pier for the Super Bowl, too.
Disney also revealed that Disney+ will be the host of this year’s Banana Bowl. Speaking of the Savannah Bananas, Jackson Olson will be one of the contestants on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. ESPN also shared an exclusive look at ESPN’s Billie Jean King documentary, Give Me The Ball! ESPN also revealed the early-season college football schedule.
Let’s talk about some TV! Love Story’s Paul Anthony Kelly will be joining the star-studded cast of the 13th season of American Horror Story. Attendees also got first looks at some new TV shows, including the limited series Cry Wolf (with Brie Larson, and Olivia Colman), Ryan Murphy’s The Shards (with Kaia Gerber, Igby Rigney, and Homer Gere), The Land (with Christopher Meloni, William H. Macy, and Mandy Moore ), the limited series Count My Lies (with Lindsay Lohan, Shailene Woodley, and Kit Harington), and The Spot (with Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor.
There were some big announcements for Disney+, too. Avatar: Fire and Ash will land on Disney+ on June 24th. Season 2 of Ahsoka will launch in early 2027. VisionQuest, the conclusion of the WandaVision trilogy, will debut on the streaming platform on October 14th.
We’ll keep an eye out for more big Disney announcements, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
