We FINALLY Know When This MAJOR Marvel Character is Returning

We finally know when Vision is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

After years of speculation, Disney and Marvel confirmed at this year’s Upfront presentation that the long-awaited VisionQuest series will premiere on Disney+ on October 14th.

The series will see the return of Paul Bettany, who originated the character in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and went on to appear in several more Marvel films before costarring in 2021’s WandaVision with onscreen paramour Wanda Maximoff, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen.

The events of that series have been explored in the follow-up Agatha All Along as well as the film Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but Bettany himself has yet to reappear in his White Vision persona since the finale of WandaVision.

In addition to the returning Bettany, the series will also mark the return of James Spader’s Ultron – whose cinematic origin is deeply tied to Vision’s – to the MCU for the first time in over a decade. The cast also includes Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, and Ruaridh Mollica. Terry Matalas, best known for Star Trek: Picard, as well as 12 Monkeys and MacGyver, will serve as showrunner for the series.

While Disney is explicitly labeling VisionQuest as “the final installment in the trilogy” that began with 2021’s WandaVision and continued with 2024’s Agatha All Along, it is worth noting that the series is premiering only months before the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday in December, and conceivably could tie into that film’s storyline in as-yet-announced ways.
