There are a LOT of meals to be eaten at Disney World, but breakfast might just be the most underrated one.
If you’ve been sleeping on the morning dining options around Disney World, it’s time to wake up (pun very much intended). From character buffets to quick-service hidden gems, there are a handful of spots around the resort where the breakfast offerings are truly worth planning your whole morning around. We’ve rounded up four of our favorites, and we think they deserve a whole lot more attention than they typically get.
Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
First stop: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Capt. Cook’s is the quick-service option at this gorgeous deluxe resort, and it’s serving up some seriously solid breakfast options. The real star of the show here, though, is the Tonga Toast.
If you haven’t had it before, allow us to introduce you: it’s a thick slab of sourdough stuffed with banana, battered, deep-fried, and finished off with a generous dusting of cinnamon-sugar, then served alongside your choice of bacon or sausage. It’s indulgent in the best way possible.
And while Tonga Toast does pop up at a few spots around the Polynesian, Capt. Cook’s is going to be your most budget-friendly way to get your hands on it.

Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, tucked into the Africa section of the park, you’ll find Tusker House, and honestly, it might just be one of our favorite buffets on the entire Disney World property. This one’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and while every meal here brings something impressive to the table, breakfast holds its own in a pretty remarkable way.
The morning buffet is packed with both African-inspired and American-style dishes, and the spread can include things like bobotie, African French Toast Bulkas, made-to-order omelets, chai-spiced croissants, and the showstopper that is the Simba Waffle, which you can top with a banana caramel sauce that genuinely might be one of the best things we’ve ever tasted at Disney World.
And while you’re loading up your plate, you’ll be visited by Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy, all decked out in their safari best and ready to say “Jambo!” (that’s “hello” in Swahili, for those keeping track).

Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe at EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion
Norway Pavilion fans, this one’s for you. Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe is a charming Norwegian-style bakery right inside Epcot’s Norway Pavilion, and while it’s open throughout the day with a rotating selection of pastries and baked goods, we’re especially big fans of hitting this spot first thing in the morning.
Their lineup includes things like School Bread (a sweet roll filled with custard and rolled in coconut) and a cinnamon roll with orange cream cheese icing that’s honestly hard to say no to. There are also some unique coffee drinks worth knowing about, including the Kristoff Kaffe, a frozen coffee blended with coffee-chocolate sauce and topped with a coffee-chocolate crunch.
If you’re looking for something a little more elevated, you can also order the Frozen Viking Coffee, which is the same drink with Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur and Kamora Coffee Liqueur added in. A morning pastry here, followed by a ride on Frozen Ever After, is genuinely one of our favorite ways to kick off a day at EPCOT.

Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a spot that we’d fully consider a sleeper hit in the breakfast category. The restaurant operates a buffet for both breakfast and dinner, but the two meals are very different experiences. In the morning, it’s all about Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast, a character dining experience where you’ll get to hang with Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their cutest beachwear.
The moment you sit down, your server drops off a basket of salted caramel beach buns, and we’re not exaggerating when we say these are some of the best bites of bread at Disney World. They’re soft, sweet without being over the top, and that combination of sticky caramel and sea salt on top is genuinely irresistible.
Up at the buffet, there’s a Minnie Waffle situation happening (which, honestly, is completely appropriate given whose party this is), plus an omelet station, a crepe station where a Cast Member makes your crepe fresh right in front of you, and a build-your-own breakfast taco station that lets you customize to your heart’s content. One more thing worth noting: We think the breakfast buffet at Cape May Cafe runs circles around dinner.

Cook’s, loading up your plate at Tusker House, sipping a Kristoff Kaffe at Kringla Bakeri, or diving into a basket of salted caramel beach buns at Cape May Cafe, breakfast around Disney World is genuinely worth getting excited about.
