Ever since it was announced that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom was going to get a huge refurbishment, I have been counting down the days till I get Galactic Hero on the new system. We officially have the reopening date, which means it’s time to start practicing because we have points to score!
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be reopening on April 8th, 2026!

There are so many new things coming to the attraction that it just might feel like a brand new ride. You will now be able to pick up the blasters instead of having them bolted onto the ride vehicle. If you’ve ridden Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Disneyland, holding your blaster might sound more familiar.

I can’t wait for the new show scene, too. Buddy will teach you how to earn points on the ride, and we’re always down for a new character in our Disney Parks universe.

There will also be new ride vehicles and targets, which will light up and react once you hit them. The blasters will also have two different colors in the vehicle so you can easily tell where you’re pointing.

This isn’t the only attraction reopening this spring. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been going through a long refurbishment to add a bit of new magic, including Rainbow Caverns. The track has also been given some much-needed love to help keep the attraction in tip-top shape.
