Rise of the Resistance is an incredible ride and one of the best attractions in the world…but it’s not flawless.
This popular trackless Star Wars ride is located at both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Galaxy’s Edge. It often draws long waits thanks to its immersive storytelling, innovative ride mechanics, thrills, and unforgettable set pieces. And yet, the ride still has some issues that we’d like to see resolved.
When it comes to Rise of the Resistance, there are several new rules we’d love to see Disney implement that would take the ride to the next level!
Rule #1: Everything Must Work!
We’d love to see a rule where every single piece of the pre-show and ride must actually work at the same time! Because of its complexities, Rise of the Resistance often operates in B, C, and D-modes.
From broken Kylo Ren animatronics to canons not moving to the lightsaber effects not always working…there can be several intended effects that don’t work at any given time.
With how long this ride will make you wake — B-mode or otherwise — it would be nice to get the premier version of the attraction every single ride-through.

Rule #2: Add to Lightning Lane Multi Pass
We track the wait times every day in Disney World…and you would be surprised where Rise of the Resistance falls compared to other rides in the park! Even though this is one of the most mind-blowing attractions we’ve ever experienced, it’s hard to justify paying $25 per person to skip the line here.
Slinky Dog Dash and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster often have longer lines than the Star Wars attraction. Will Disney make this Lightning Lane swap when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopens this summer with the Muppets? Or, maybe they will wait until Monsters, Inc. Land opens? It’s unclear at the moment, but we’re ready for it.

Rule #3: Poe Damerian Should Greet Us In Person
As one DFB team member put it: ” I don’t just want Poe Dameron telling me I’m a fine-looking recruit behind the screen. I want him to come out here and SAY IT TO MY FACE.”
Hey, we’re never against adding more characters to a ride…especially this particular fighter pilot. Whether he’s giving us a pat on the back and comforting us before the big adventure or — as another DFB team member puts it — encouraging us “preferably while cradling my face in his hands”…there’s no denying that the ride would be better for it!
Even with its flaws (including a physical lack of Poe Dameron), Rise of the Resistance is still a world-class attraction that we’ve absolutely fallen in love with since it opened. We’re just asking Disney to tweak the ride in a few instances and to give the people what they want!
