Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland has been undergoing changes recently — but it looks like those changes might be coming to fruition soon.
This Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge bar is a popular spot — despite being a hive of scum and villainy — but it has been closed since January 20th, 2026, with no reopening date in sight. Disney didn’t share much about the closure, but now, it looks like Oga’s Cantina will be reopening soon.
According to the Disneyland website, Oga’s Cantina will be reopening on March 14th at 10 AM. While Disney didn’t share what the closure was for, it has ended up being closed for longer than we originally thought it would be. When we first spotted the closure, the calendar showed the bar reopening just five days later, but then, hours weren’t showing on the calendar at all.
Though we don’t officially know what this closure was for, many have speculated that it could have something to do with the original trilogy storylines coming into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disney did tease that a “Cantina Band” will be heard from within the bar, but whether there will be any actual, physical updates to the space remains to be seen.
It’s possible that the closure doesn’t have anything to do with the upcoming changes at Galaxy’s Edge at all, too. After all, Disney shared that these changes weren’t going to take place until April 29th, so this would certainly be early if so.
Disney has announced that on April 29th, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is changing in a MAJOR way, ushering in a “new point in the Star Wars saga like never before.” They’re rolling back the timeline several decades to include characters and storylines from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka.

Beginning April 29, 2026, visitors to Batuu may find Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, and other iconic Star Wars characters inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., as the land expands its timeline to include more Star Wars eras. As far as Oga’s Cantina goes, Disney shared that in the era of the Galactic Civil War, proprietor Oga Garra only recently opened this watering hole, which is already becoming a popular spot for intergalactic travelers.
As of now, these changes are only slated for Disneyland’s version of Galaxy’s Edge, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well.
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about Oga’s Cantina and the changes coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond!
