We Spotted a Piece of Disney World HISTORY at Hollywood Studios

Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re Disney experts. We go to Disney World every single day to find out what’s new. So when we rode one of our favorite Hollywood Studios rides recently, we were surprised to see something new!

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania is part ride, part shooting game that takes you through Toy Story settings. It’s all 3D, so you’ll get a pair of glasses before you hop on. But when we went to grab some, we noticed something from one of our favorite closed attractions that’s being given a new life.

We spotted some new purple glasses among the classic yellow ones that Toy Story Mania typically uses! True Disney fans will know that purple glasses were exclusively at Muppet*Vision 3D, which closed permanently back in June. We were so excited to see them again!

Muppet*Vision 3D was a show where you tour Muppet Studios with Kermit as they showcase their new 3D tech. Seeing these glasses felt like seeing an old friend!

After Muppet*Vision 3D’s closure, it was announced that The Muppets will be moving to a newly rethemed Rock n’ Roller Coaster, but we don’t have too many specifics yet. It’ll star the Electric Mayhem band and feature Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Scooter. It’s set to open this summer!

Muppet*Vision 3D, along with Muppet Courtyard, closed permanently in June to make way for the new Monsters, Inc land. The new area will transport you into Monstropolis and feature a Monsters, Inc themed roller coaster that takes you through the film’s swinging door scene along with Mike, Sully, and Boo. There will also be new shopping and dining destinations, but nothing official has been announced yet. It’s set to open sometime next year.
