I go to Disney World ALL. THE. TIME. And that means I interact with Cast Members pretty frequently!
During my face time with Disney’s hard-working employees, I try to be the perfect guest. I offer words of encouragement, follow their directions closely, and occasionally crack a joke to hopefully make their day a little better. Hopefully, all that teacher’s pet behavior makes up for what I’m about to confess…there are some Cast Members I AVOID.
The Bathroom Custodial Team
First on the list of Cast Members I avoid? The employees who work in the bathrooms after I’ve been in that stall for a little too long, if you know what I mean. I’ve been camped out for 20 minutes, and they know I’ve been camped out for 20 minutes. The last thing I want to do is acknowledge it!
It’s better if we all just keep our dignity intact and avoid eye contact if at all possible. A demure smile, a very thorough hand-washing, and I’m on my way. Hopefully, never to see that Cast Member again.
The Guy Who Boards the Transport on Rise of the Resistance
Heading over to one of Disney World’s most popular rides for this next one! You know that moment on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios where a First Order officer boards your transport ship and tells you to get off? Yeah, I want to avoid that guy. He scares me.
Somehow, I feel like if he stares at me too long, I might melt right into the floor. All I want is to take a super cool picture of the Stormtrooper room, my dude, and you’re making me nervous. I simply skedaddle past and get on with my capture as smoothly as possible.
The PeopleMover Disembarkation Cast Member
All I want is to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover on repeat for an entire day. Is that too much to ask? So, for me personally, I’m hoping that if I look the other way or bat my eyelashes real sweetly, the Cast Member at the end of the ride will just let me keep doing laps.
Seriously, enjoying an entire day getting the view of Tomorrowland from above sounds perfect. That is, until it’s time to hop off and go order my favorite treat — a scoop of chocolate ice cream with peanut butter sauce from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.
The Cast Members Who Clear Lands at Holiday Parties
For legal reasons, this next one is a JOKE. But you know who I would really love to avoid? Those Cast Members who clear out the daytime guests before Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I’m a simple girl who just wants to go to every holiday party of the season without spending a small fortune on tickets. 😉
For that matter, I would also love to avoid the Cast Members who clear the parks at the end of the night. A night where I have free rein to explore Magic Kingdom with no guests in sight sounds like a dream come true. Disney, could we make that happen?!
The Housekeeper on My Last Day
The very last thing I want to do on the last day of my Disney World hotel stay is leave, and if there’s one person who’s trying to get me to leave ASAP, it’s the housekeeper assigned to my room. I want every last minute of my time until 11AM, and I don’t want a knock on my door before then!
Maybe if I ignore the Cast Member, they won’t make me leave? I seriously doubt that, but it’s what I think about in my dreams…the eternal Disney resort stay!
Alas, I’ll still heed the instructions of these Cast Members because I’m a good Disney World citizen and I want to be allowed to come back. But it’s fun to think about what could be!

I actually LOVED that guy at Rise of the Resistance, especially when he said, “You will all remove any backpacks and hold them in front of you. That was NOT a suggestion!” I really enjoy it when a cast member really gets into his character. Great fun!
