Disney Springs is one of those places at Disney World that’s always changing. New stores will open, like the brand-new second location for Gideon’s Bakehouse called Six Ravens, and places will close, like Sprinkles, the cupcake shop with the iconic cupcake ATM. It looks like we might be adding another closure to our list!

Francesca’s

According to People, Francesca’s will be closing its doors after 25 years of business. Since Disney Springs has a Francesca’s location, does this mean it’s closing down? Here’s what we know.

Francesca’s is a women’s clothing boutique and confirmed with Women’s Wear Daily, that they are currently “liquidating our inventory and closing soon.” If you go to the website, they’re hosting a warehouse sale, which makes this a great time to grab some items onsale.

The company has not shared when its brick-and-mortar stores will close, but in December 2020, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with plans to sell the business after its stores struggled following the COVID-19 pandemic.

When they announced that they filed for bankruptcy, 558 of its 700 stores would remain open as the company attempted “to renegotiate a number of leases during the process, which may include closing additional boutiques.”

Usually, Disney Springs is not immune to nationwide closures. We recently saw this with Sprinkles, which announced that the whole company would be shutting down, and that included the Disney Springs locations, which closed the same day as the rest of the locations.

While there are many Disney-owned restaurants and stores within Disney Springs, there are lots of third-party-owned locations that run with their own corporate standards. Currently, there is no closing message on the Disney Springs website, and it lists current hours until the end of March.
