The EPCOT Festival of the Arts has officially kicked off, and we were there on day one to get you all the food booth reviews, as well as all the details you need about festival activities, entertainment, and more!
If you plan on visiting the festival, though, you might want to use Disney Dining Plan snack credits to pay for some of those food booth eats. Well, we’ve put together a list of the best festival snacks to get if you’re using those snack credits that will give you the most value for your buck.
Yes, in case you were wondering, you can use those Disney Dining Plan snack credits for some items at the festival booths. You’ll see the Disney Dining Plan logo beside the eligible items on each booth’s menu. But you want to be smart in how you use those credits to get the most out of what you paid for the dining plan. So here are the top snacks to use your credits on at this year’s festival.
Let’s start in Canada, with Gourmet Landscapes. You’ll want to grab the plant-based Wild Mushroom Risotto with aged Parmesan, truffle shavings, and zinfandel reduction. This has often been one of our favorite things to eat at this booth. It’s creamy, salty, earthy, and delicious. It’s also $9.79, so you’re getting a good deal with a snack credit.
You’ll want to order something else at this booth, too, the Roasted Bone Marrow with onion marmalade, pickled mushrooms, and petite lettuce. This is one of the more unique offerings at the festival, and basically, you’re just supposed to spoon out the marrow and spread it over the bread. You get a nice salty flavor at the start, with a sweet flavor aftertaste. Its price is $10.79, so this is one of the best deals you can get at the festival if you’re using snack credits.
France always has one of our favorite food booths, L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise. You’ll find good value with your snack credits there by ordering the Crème de Brie en Petit Pain, which is warm, creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl for $10.25. This is a festival classic and a favorite for good reason. It’s melty cheese and bread…and really, is there anything better?
You can also grab the Gâteau de Crabe, Bisque de Homard, Crème Citron et Aneth, which is a crab cake, lobster bisque, and lemon-dill sour cream. The crab meat is sweet and delicate with a lightly seasoned buttery flavor. The lobster bisque is rich and velvety. It’s $11.95, so it’s definitely worth the cost of a snack credit.
Pop by Italy to visit L’Arte di Mangiare to pick up the very fun Mozzarella Fritta, which is lash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments for $9.50. It’s breaded and fried cheese with little dipping sauces, and it’s as delicious as it is cute. It’s also a no-brainer if you’re using Disney Dining Plan snack credits.
Over near the American Adventure Pavilion, you’ll find The Artist’s Table booth. There, you’ll want to use a snack credit for the Peppercorn-crusted Striploin with grilled asparagus, potatoes au gratin, and au poivre butter. This is classic steak and asparagus, but it’s done to perfection. The meat is cooked medium and is thinly sliced. That peppercorn adds a ton of flavor. The asparagus has a nice snap. And there are even potatoes, too. And with this snack costing $9.29, you’re getting a LOT out of that Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
Over in China, you’ll find The Painted Panda. Be sure to order the General Tso’s Chicken Shumai, which features dumplings filled with chicken, asparagus, onion, and water chestnuts topped with General Tso’s sauce. The infusion of the vegetables with the chicken in this dumpling is so nice, and the water chestnut adds a nice crunch. Add the saltiness of the soy, and you’ve got a solid dish. It’s $10.75, so be sure to use that snack credit.
Mexico is always a big hit with us, but to get more bang for your buck with the Disney Dining Plan, you’ll want to visit El Artista Hambriento and order the Tostada de Cangrejo, a crispy corn tortilla topped with guacamole, lump crab, mango, crispy onions, and hot sauce. This was our favorite item at the booth this year because it had a great mixture of textures and flavors. It’s regularly $9.50, but it’s “free” if you use a snack credit, right?
Our best tip for using dining credits at the festival is to do your research first and see what’s a good price, as well as what you know you would enjoy eating. For more on the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, be sure to follow us for more tips and tricks to have the best festival visit as possible.
