We’ve got some REALLY sad news out of Disneyland Resort, especially for those who are really big fans of a certain menu item available at Award Wieners!
Film Strip Fries with Beer Cheese
Award Wieners is 100% the place to go in Disney California Adventure if you’re looking for a hot dog, or the iconic Filmstrip Fries. These are basically regular fries, but they’re in a very unique shape — they’re thick and curled a bit, hence the name “film strip.” We’ve got horrible news, though — filmstrip fries are currently OFF the menu and not being served!
When we took a look at the Award Wieners menu recently, we noticed that the iconic Filmstrip Fries were no longer listed. Below is a photo of the menu previously…

…and here’s what’s currently listed online — no Filmstrip Fries, only regular fries! What is happening?!

We headed straight to Award Wieners when we stepped into the park and asked a Cast Member if they were really gone, to see if we could get more information. To our dismay, we were told that yes, the Filmstrip Fries are currently off the menu, and they weren’t sure if or when they’d be back. It seems this change was made pretty suddenly, and there wasn’t much fanfare about it. But it’s a big deal to us!

Disney, listen to us right now — we are BEGGING for you to bring these back. To some people, the type of fry may not be important, but these are ICONIC. They’re delicious, unique, and regular fries just don’t give us the same Award Wieners feeling. We’re crossing our fingers that the change is only temporary and may be due to an issue with stock, but if these don’t come back, we’ll be devastated.
