A beloved Disney hotel offering is returning soon, and we’re hoping to see some notable changes!
The Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is set to reopen sometime in early 2026 after over five years of being closed, and we can’t wait to go back! With that said, a lot’s changed since life pre-pandemic, and the tea room should look a little different. With that in mind, there are some changes we’d like to see when it’s back open!
Lower Prices
The Garden View Tea Room provided a luxurious experience — one that was never cheap. When it was last open in 2020, Afternoon Tea offered three different options: The Berkshire, The Cheshire, and The Bedfordshire.
The Berkshire cost $150 per adult and came with a medley of finger sandwiches, traditional scones with accompaniments, and a choice of dessert with locally sourced Mote Marine Siberian Sturgeon North American caviar and traditional accompaniments to share. It also included two pots of tea with this meal.
The Cheshire Tea was $50 per adult and had the same menu without the caviar and its accompaniments. It did include fruits and cheeses, however. The Bedfordshire Tea was $35 per adult and featured a sandwich-scone-dessert combo. Both of these options included a selection of one kind of tea per person.
The Mrs. Potts’ Tea for $23.79 per person was a kids’ option that came with sandwiches, a jam tart, pastries, and a choice of beverage.
As Disney World prices (specifically table service prices) tend to increase on a yearly basis, it’s unlikely the tea room reopens with those same prices. Dining here will still be a relatively expensive experience. There is no getting around that fact. However, when comparing to other tea services like Roses of Gold Afternoon Tea at The Cake Bake Shop, we’re hoping the cheaper options at least come in at a more affordable cost.
Currently, The Cake Bake Shop’s afternoon tea costs $95.00 per adult and $65.00 per child ages 3 to 9.
The Return of My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party
My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party was another offering that cosr $333.64 per adult and child ages 3-9 (and additional guests 10 and over were $98.66).
This packaged party included sing-alongs, storytelling, and a princess parade — creating lasting memories that justified the cost. Kids were encouraged to dress as their favorite princess, and were even given gifts like a special 18-inch doll dressed in her Princess Aurora costume, a Princess tiara, a silver princess bracelet and princess necklace, a fresh rose, a princess cinch bag, and a “Best Friend” certificate for the doll! They would then get a tea-inspired meal with a Princess cake for two.
When the room reopens, we’d love to see this incredible offering return! If not, it would also be really cool to see a package that includes the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, which is upstairs at the Grand Floridian (and has also been closed).
How amazing would it be to get dressed up like a princess and then get a special afternoon tea experience?!
A Brunch Offering
Afternoon tea is great, but a brunch service would add a whole new level. You could get petite quiches, bite-sized brioche French toast, flaky pastries inspired by tea flavors, and maybe even some savory pastries. Then pair that with curated tea flights? It’s safe to say this option would be popular.
It would give guests a new reason to book earlier in the day, all while providing a new and exciting experience. This spot radiates brunch energy, so it would be ideal for Disney to deliver when it reopens!
The Garden View Tea Room has always been a favorite thanks to its classic, nostalgic, and enchanting environment and offerings. When the tea room reopens, we’d love to see it continue to evolve and continue the good reputation of the Grand Floridian.
We’ll continue to follow the tea room’s updates as well as all the latest Disney World happenings, so keep it posted right here at the Disney Food Blog to stay in the know!

I’m hoping that there will be more tea flavors and more normal savory items, I’m all for the cute Alice theme but .. Beet bread, just a normal egg salad on white bread would be nice with a little beet heart maybe. And where are the scones and lemon curd? $79.00 * will we need to stop somewhere after? Doesn’t seem like it’s going to be filling.
