The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is coming February 26th through March 2nd, 2026! Whether you are getting ready to participate in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, preparing to cheer someone on in the race, or are just now learning there is a race that weekend, we have an update you need to know.
Due to the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday, March 1st, EPCOT will open a bit later than usual. Don’t worry, it’s nothing too crazy, but we don’t want you showing up at the normal opening time only to find that the park is closed. EPCOT will open at 10 AM instead of 9 AM, with Early Entry beginning at 9:30 AM.
If you were planning to head to EPCOT on March 1st, you can now get a bit of extra sleep in the morning or have a relaxing morning before heading to the park. If you will be at Disney World during a runDisney, be prepared for road closures and heavier traffic in the morning. The courses for the races use Disney World roads, so some roads will be closed for a few hours early in the morning. If you need to be somewhere early in the morning, make sure to leave yourself extra time to get there.
If you are participating in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, we are cheering for you, and we hope you have a magical time! If you want to participate in a runDisney race, you can check out the runDisney website for more information. runDisney hosts several races per year at Disney World and Disneyland Resort. These races are VERY popular, though, so you will need to try to sign up as soon as registration opens. Even if you are right on time, there is no guarantee you will get a spot. But don’t give up and keep trying!
Don’t forget: March 1st, EPCOT is opening later than normal. Early Entry starts at 9:30 AM, and the park opens for everyone at 10 AM. We are here to make sure you have the most up-to-date information about your Disney World trip. We are always keeping an eye on the latest news and updates, so you are in the know. Make sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
