You’ve seen the Disney World parks busy, we’re 99% sure, but there’s something about Disney Springs when it’s packed.
Disney Springs is the shopping and dining district of Disney World, so for Orlando locals who are looking to see a movie at the AMC Theater, or maybe do some gift shopping, or just go to their favorite restaurant, that’s all going to be in ADDITION to the crowds that are there from out of town visitors. While during the week can get crowded too, especially towards holidays, weekends at Disney Springs? This is EXACTLY why we recommend avoiding them.
We stepped into Disney Springs this weekend just to check out how things were looking, and the crowds were WILD. We’re talking shoulder to shoulder in multiple areas, even where the walking paths are wider.
Now, it’s possible the crowds could be slightly heavier due to holiday shopping, but we’ve noticed that in general, weekends in Disney Springs are pretty hectic. In fact, we had one of our local reporters mention that she’s stopped going to see movies at the AMC Theater on weekends just due to the intense crowds, no matter what time of day it is.
Just look at this — about midday on Saturday, this was the line for the Daily Poutine. Yes, all those people in the back left corner? They’re all in line!
If you’re looking for the lowest crowds in Disney Springs, we recommend staying away from the holiday season as a whole, but if that isn’t possible, then Monday-Thursday is your best bet.

I mean, weekends EVERYWHERE at Disney are pretty hectic. This is why on a long trip I go to the Springs (where lineups don’t matter as much) on Sunday, then do the parks I need to do on weekdays and come back to the parks I’ve already done the next weekend.
