Disney World is constantly making changes to its restaurants, from menu updates to price increases to complete closures and overhauls.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
In the past several years, we’ve been to multiple new dining locations, and most of them have been absolutely lovely. However, what we’ve really been longing for all this time is for a long-lost dining spot to reopen. And finally, after years of pleading, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is reopening its tea room!
The Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian has been closed since 2020, when the pandemic began. Even after the hotel reopened and its other restaurants returned to operating, the Garden View Lounge remained closed for seemingly no reason. But now, it’s coming back!
Garden View Tea Room
This lounge is set to reopen in early 2026, as the Grand Floridian completes its lobby refurbishments. The space is currently being updated as part of the changes, and its new look is supposed to complement the updates from the lobby. When the lobby was updated, new carpet was installed, and new furniture was added.
Garden View Lounge
Before its closure, the Garden View Lounge was known for its afternoon tea experience, and when it reopens, a new tea experience will be offered! Disney described this updated tea offering as having “whimsical Disney touches.” In the past, there have been tea offerings here with Disney character appearances, so fingers crossed for something similar!
Tea time at the Grand Flo!
Currently, if you want to experience afternoon tea in Disney World, your best bet is to go to The Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk. Its tea display is absolutely stunning, but with a $95 price tag per person, it may not be the most accessible dining option for your group.

Ultimately, we’re excited to see another beloved restaurant return to Disney World. We can’t wait to stop by for tea and see how it stacks up in 2026. We’ll make sure to update you as more details are released about the reopening.
