We’ve been eating a lot of holiday treats in Disney World, including treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. That means we’ve tried a lot of peppermint-flavored things at this point.
However, we just had a slice of cake at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk that blows away all its peppermint-flavored competition, so let’s talk about it.
For a limited time, you can get the Peppermint Candy Cane Chocolate Cake at The Cake Bake Shop. Now, we know, these cake slices aren’t cheap…they’re $22 a pop. But the cake here is consistently good…and this slice is no different. You don’t even have to like peppermint to like it because the flavor is subtle enough that it’s not overwhelming the rest of the cake’s flavor.
It’s more like just kinda’ licking on a candy cane…but mixed with chocolate flavors. And those flavors blend well together. There are even crushed candy canes IN The cake between the layers of buttercream, and it almost reminds us of a peppermint sundae because it’s just so smooth, and the cake melts in your mouth.
Yeah, we know, again, $22 for a slice of cake. But this is one of those little joys you need to treat yourself to during the holiday season. It’s also perfect for celebrating a special occasion because this cake is going to leave you with some happy memories…and isn’t that what visiting Disney World is all about?

Had the peppermint cake last night and I totally agree with DFB.
I had that last December when me and my mother-n-law went to the Cake Bake Shop for the first time. The cake was a disappointment, the cake was dry and very little peppermint flavor. For me it was not worth the $22.00.
