If you’re wondering what grandma is cooking up for the holiday this year, come along with us as we check out Grandma’s Recipes booth at the Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays!
The 2025 Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through January 7th, 2026, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at Grandma’s Recipes booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts.
Menu
This year, you’ll find several returning items at Grandma’s Recipes! It’s a small menu with just two food items and two drinks, and just ONE item is NEW for 2025.
The Barbacoa Tamal de Res and the Cookie Dough Yule Log both return from last year, along with the returning Café de Olla Cold Brew.
New for 2025 is a boozy Café de Olla Carajillo Cocktail made with Spanish liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
The Barbacoa Tamal de Res is back again this year and is made with Oaxaca cheese, tomatillo salsa, and crema, and you can order it for $9.75.
Last year, we found this to be a really good dish with a spicy kick, and we found the same this year. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind that kick and knows that this is a flavor profile you enjoy, this is definitely one you want to grab.
Also returning this year is the festive Cookie Dough Yule Log filled with chocolate chip cookie dough and white chocolate mousse covered with chocolate buttercream. You can buy this item for $8.50.
We really enjoyed this dessert last year, and it was made for cookie dough fans! This year, we consider it to be one of our favorite items of the festival! It’s got lots of fun flavors, smooth chocolate frosting, and moist cake. The cookie dough center is a tasty surprise, and it’s just a bonus that it’s cute and photogenic!
Drinks
Returning for 2025 is the non-boozy Café de Olla Cold Brew made with Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce for $7.75.
You need to enjoy cold brew to like this drink (based on our reporter’s review last year). The mini pan dulce is a bonus snack with this iced coffee. This year, the cinnamon cold brew is good, but the concha gets soggy, so we recommend taking it out ASAP and eating it normally, or just dipping it as you go. The concha had a hint of strawberry to it, which we enjoyed, and it paired great with the creamy and sweet coffee.
New for 2025 is a boozy Café de Olla Carajillo Cocktail made with Spanish liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce for $19.00! (Yes, a boozy iced coffee for almost $20). The only difference — other than the price — between this and the non-boozy iced coffee is the addition of the Spanish liqueur.
OVERALL
Overall, this is a pretty solid booth that rarely lets us down. If you enjoy sweet snacks and drinks, and/or need a little caffeine pick-me-up during your festival day, we think this is a great spot to head to.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
