If you’re looking for some great food in Disney Springs, well, you have a LOT of choices…like a LOT. If you’re looking for good barbecue, though, look no further than The Polite Pig, which is the kind of restaurant where you can live out a lot of your carnivore dreams. However, you may be wondering about the Chef’s Specials there…are they worth ordering?
Well, we visited The Polite Pig recently to check out this month’s Chef’s Special, and we’re here to give you our honest review. So let’s dive into some food!
This month’s Chef’s Special at The Polite Pig is the Seared Pork Loin Chop with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and peas with a bourbon honey BBQ sauce for $23. We’re going to start out with the fact that we generally love the regular menu at The Polite Pig, but the Chef’s Specials don’t always wow us, and this one is more of the same. It just feels like something we could make at home for dinner, and not something you’d pay over $20 for in a restaurant.
You do get a pretty decent-sized piece of meat, but it is VERY fatty, which keeps it from being dry, but that could turn some folks off. That also made this chop pretty tough, though, in that it was hard to cut and involved a LOT of chewing. The sauce is more like a glaze on top, and we think we would have preferred more. We also would’ve preferred that the veggies were in the sauce, too. You do taste that hint of bourbon flavor, but it’s mostly a honey barbecue flavor.
The vegetables are nice, except for the potatoes, which were cooked inconsistently. Some of the potatoes were soft and tender with a nice char, while others were almost a little undercooked. The mushrooms are a little better, but there is still some inconsistency in how they’re cooked, although they’re chewy and add an earthy flavor. We also appreciated that they were cooked enough that they didn’t have that slimy texture that can be off-putting. The peas…are peas. Overall, the vegetables are well seasoned, so we will say that.
Overall, we don’t think we’d order this again. Instead, we’d just stick with the regular menu, which is always consistently good here.

Went once, was kinda busy but not packed. Sat at a table, no one came to help us so after20 minutes we left.
Hi Ken! The reason nobody came to your table is because there is a counter you have to order from where they will give you a number to take to your table so they know where to bring your food. If you just sit down at a table they don’t know you haven’t been waited on.
Had the duck special one time it was smoked and then deep fried with a cherry sauce it was the driest thing I have ever eaten the sauce did not help. I have gone there a lot one bad dinner out of dozens is not bad
