Okay, things are…well, a lot in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now. The old Muppets Courtyard is behind construction walls while it’s being converted into a Monsters, Inc. land. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close in 2026 to make way for the Muppets to take over. Animation Courtyard is under construction to be reimagined as The Walt Disney Studios.
It’s a lot to keep track of. Well, we’ve got another big change in Hollywood Studios to warn you about. The live-action Ariel meet-and-greet location will change soon.
If you look at the Disney World website, you might notice there’s a message on the page for the meet-and-greet for Hollywood Studios’ live-action Ariel. Ariel usually meets with guests in the Walt Disney Presents building. However, on October 28th, she will move from that location. Instead, you’ll be able to meet her at Echo Lake, near 50s Prime Time Cafe.
Disney has not given a reason as to why the character meet-and-greet will be moving. The website mentions that the move is temporary, so perhaps the space will be getting a bit of freshening up before she returns. In the meantime, if you want to meet Ariel, you’ll want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when she meets, as well as get an exact location. You can do that by doing the following:
- Select the pin at the bottom of the screen on My Disney Experience.
- At the top, scroll through the icons and choose “Characters.”
- Use the locations drop-down to select Hollywood Studios.
- Then click on “Show List” at the bottom right of the screen — this will give you a full list of characters available, as well as their times and locations.
- You can also use the map view to find characters in the park.
