There are some big projects going on in Hollywood Studios right now, including the major plans Disney has for Animation Courtyard.
New artwork on the walls!
Walls went up around this area when Star Wars: Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! closed a few weeks ago, but now, there has been a change to the construction site. The walls are now covered in concept art for the new space that’s coming in 2026!
It was announced a few months ago that Animation Courtyard will be completely transformed and reopen with new attractions in 2026. The updated space will feature “The Magic of Disney Animation,” an area where you can watch a short film, interact with portraits, and even learn to draw animated characters. We’ve already seen concept art for this attraction, but now it lines the walls outside the construction zone.

The courtyard will also have a new playground for little ones, as well as a brand-new Disney Junior show to replace the one that closed. This space is going to be filled with more life than it has had in the past few years, and many fans are hyped about it!

To top it all off, we’ll be getting the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat in Hollywood Studios, but in a smaller form — it’ll top the building that houses the new animation offerings. The iconic Hollywood Studios archway doesn’t appear in the concept art, but as of right now, it still stands.

We’ll be on the lookout for any more construction changes in this area in the coming months. If you’re visiting soon, you should know that The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure is still open during this construction work.
