Universal’s Epic Universe opened in May of this year, and we can’t stop talking about it. There’s just so much to uncover and learn yet, and we’re bringing all the info straight to you as we do. From ride tips and tricks to the best food to the coolest experiences and more, we love talking about Epic Universe.
For those unfamiliar with the park, it is comprised of five lands — Celestial Park, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, Super Nintendo World, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic. Each land offers immersive experiences, rides, restaurants, and shops. As you walk through each portal into the lands, you’re transported into the worlds of these stories. And if you’re like us and never want to leave the park, we have some good news for you — you don’t have to leave right when the park closes!
Epic Universe closes all of its portals around 9-10 PM, depending on when you’re visiting. At that time, if you’re in one of the lands (Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, or The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic), you’ll need to head back to Celestial Park, where the entrance/exit for the park is. All of the park’s rides stop running, shops close, and dining options are no longer available…well, mostly. 😉
Once you’re in Celestial Park, you actually don’t have to leave immediately! If your tired feet allow, you can actually stay in the park, within Celestial Park, for ONE MORE HOUR! The main shops AND many snack locations here stay open for an extra hour after the official park closing time. So if you’re not aching for your bed or your foot soak at this point, you can opt to stay a bit longer and get all that shopping done that you put off all day while you were riding the rides and seeing the shows.
This is really good news for night owls. If you want to focus on the rides, shows, and dining throughout the day, you can, and then spend the last hour of the night at the shops in Celestial Park getting your shopping done. This way, you don’t have to drag shopping bags around with you all day! Then head back to your hotel and collapse on your bed, knowing you accomplished some big-time theme park excitement.
If you can hang, Epic Universe stays open until 9 or 10 PM each night, but you can stay in the park, in Celestial Park, up to an EXTRA HOUR. Don’t miss out on this extra time in the gorgeous land, enjoying the sights, shopping, and snacking.
