Disney World is adding a new hotel to its lineup soon, and we just got a closer look at it.
Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is a new Disney Vacation Club resort that will be opening in 2027! This will be the newest Magic Kingdom resort area hotel when it opens. When we tell you we have been reporting on this resort for a long time, it’s true. That’s because it was originally announced in 2018, and now it’s really taking shape. Let’s look at the latest photos!
This resort is located between Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The brand-new hotel will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” We were able to see the progress being made on the Disney boats to Fort Wilderness. As you can see, many cranes and lots of construction is happening in the area.
Look at alllll that construction
The hotel looks large with its impressive footprint. While we haven’t heard an update since the hotels changed names, originally, this resort was announced as an ALL-NEW Disney Vacation Club hotel with more than 900 rooms.
It’s really taking shape — exciting!
As we walked around at neighboring resorts, we got a better look at the rooms! You can see the 5 stories that will make up the building pretty clearly.

Closer to the lake, it appears that several A-frame structures are being built. Could these be lakeside cabins?
Very exciting progress
Disney has confirmed this will be a Disney Vacation Club Resort similar to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Bay Lake Tower, and more. The hotel is expected to be labeled as a Deluxe Resort, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Another look at construction
We don’t know too much about this resort yet, so we are anxiously awaiting Disney to release more, and when they do, we will bring it to you!

Yes, you have been talking about this “forever!” Disney seems to have lost its creative touch along with a disdain for middle class Americans for whom Walt built Disneyland and then Wdw. We don’t need another rustic, wilderness type resort. We don’t need another Dvc resort. We don’t need another Deluxe resort. No doubt it will be beautiful but it will also be unaffordable! Getting more and more disappointed with Disney and their decisions…..
I am pretty sure I can’t afford staying there, an I am a DVC member. Another deluxe hotel is not needed.
I’m sure it will be lovely, but I hope next time Disney decides to pop up a new resort, they go for something on the value/moderate side of things
I also own DVC. I’m actually looking forward to it, though. It’s very frustrating when there are no rooms to book for a vacation that you’re trying to plan.
And, yes, I agree Disney should build more value/moderate hotels👍
