We love it when we come across a secret menu item at Disney World — and even more when it’s a Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs!
Gideon’s is home to some of the absolute best cookies and cakes in all of Disney World, but it’s also known for its innovative nitro cold brew coffees, including lemon and peanut butter. But did you know Gideon’s is also home to a secret nitro cold brew creation? Check out our full review here!
Sure, you’ve probably heard of the Peanut Butter Nitro Cold Brew or the Lemon Nitro Cold Brew at Gideon’s Bakehouse, but did you know about the Nitro Cold Brew Float?! It’s a bit pricey at $13, but it combines Gideon’s deliciously creamy Nitro Cold Brew with Malted Vanilla Ice Cream made by Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, another local business.
This was shockingly good. At first, we thought, “How good could this really be?” but we’re happy to be proven wrong. They give you a pretty large scoop of ice cream, and the creaminess of the ice cream, combined with the bitterness of the coffee, was the perfect pairing. The ice cream took on a coffee flavor, but because it was malted ice cream, there was a hint of nuttiness to the float as well — it almost reminded us of caramel or butterscotch.
In the past, we’ve found that cold brews like these can be a bit on the sweet side, but that wasn’t the case here. It was sweet, but not overly so, like you might expect. We appreciated that the ice cream stayed pretty solid for a bit, allowing us to eat some of this with a spoon like a real float, before it eventually melted into the cold brew and became drinkable.
If you’ve ever had an affogato, this is basically that — only made with cold brew instead of hot espresso. Still, we really enjoyed this and will definitely be back to get it again — along with those delicious cookies and cake slices!
We’ll be on the lookout for more secret menu items to try around Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney reviews, and check out our video below for exclusive Disney Springs snacks!
