Many Disney guests might be completely missing this MAJOR perk of Disney restaurants, but before you do it, there are a few things to know.

Steakhouse 71
Did you know that you can order to go from many of Disney’s most popular hotel restaurants? That’s right! No need to grab an Advanced Dining Reservation or wait around for a table! You can simply mobile order takeout using the MyDisney Experience App. But before you place your order, you’ll want to take note of these 6 things!
1. Don’t Expect the Full Menu
When ordering takeout from a Disney table service restaurant, don’t expect to see the entire menu pop up on the My Disney Experience app. Some entrees, specialty items, or even fan-favorite appetizers may not be available for mobile order. This can be disappointing if you had your heart set on a signature dish. Before making plans, it’s a good idea to preview the to-go menu in the app so you know exactly what your options will be.

2. To-Go Doesn’t Always Mean Fast
Just because you’re ordering to go doesn’t always mean it will be lightning-fast. Many times, you’ll still wait about as long as you would if you were dining in, since the kitchen prepares orders in the same flow as the dining room. To save yourself from getting hangry, place your order a bit in advance so it’s ready when you’re truly hungry, instead of waiting around with an empty stomach.

3. Only Certain Restaurants Offer Takeout
Takeout from table service restaurants isn’t available everywhere, so don’t assume your favorite spot will have it. Currently, options include restaurants like Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Since the lineup can change, it’s best to check the My Disney Experience app during your trip to see which restaurants are offering this convenient feature.

4. Quality Isn’t Quite the Same
While Disney does a good job with packaging, takeout meals don’t always live up to the same standard as when they’re served fresh at your table. Food may not be quite as hot, and items like fried dishes or steaks can lose their texture on the journey from the kitchen to the pickup area. It’s still a nice way to enjoy a sit-down meal on the go, but if presentation and temperature matter most to you, dining in might be the better choice.

5. A Cheaper Alternative to Food Delivery
If you’re staying on property and thinking about grabbing dinner from an outside delivery service like DoorDash, Disney’s to-go meals could actually save you money. DoorDash, Uber Eats, and other services often add delivery fees, tips, and sometimes even inflated menu prices. Ordering directly from a Disney restaurant through the app means you’ll only pay Disney’s listed price plus tax, and there are no surprise charges sneaking in.

Ale & Compass
6. The Best Way to End a Busy Park Day
After walking miles around the parks, sometimes the last thing you want to do is sit through a long meal at a busy restaurant. That’s where Disney’s table service takeout really shines. Imagine picking up your favorite entrée, heading back to your resort room, and enjoying it while curled up in bed watching a Disney movie. It’s a cozy, stress-free way to end your day, especially for families with tired kids or adults who just need a break from the crowds.
