Halloween has arrived at the Disneyland Resort, and with it comes spooky decorations, characters in costume, and of course, CANDY!
California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party features highly themed treat trails that bring guests face-to-face with some of Disney’s most notorious villains. According to Disney, these threats bring guests “deeper into the immersive worlds of the mischievous Characters everyone loves to fear. It’s a howl-o-ween adventure filled with frightfully delightful fun for all ages!” But what about the candy?
I’ve been covering Disney’s Halloween events for almost 7 years, and one of the most common questions I find myself asked about the Oogie Boogie Bash, as well as its East Coast counterpart Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, is what kind of candy is offered on the treat trails.
This year, the Oogie Boogie treat trails offer a large amount of candy options including 3 Musketeers, Craisin Dried Cranberries, Cheddar Goldfish Baked Crackers, Cinnamon Goldfish Giant Grahams, Lifesavers Big Ring Gummies, Lifesavers Gummies, Milk Chocolate M&M’s, Peanut M&M’s, Peanut Butter M&M’s, Milky Way, Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar, Rice Krispies Treats, Skittles Sour Skittles, Wild Berry Skittles (Wild Berry), Skittles Gummies, Wild Berry Skittles Gummies Snickers, Snickers Almond, Snickers Butterscotch Scoop, Snickers Peanut Butter, Starburst FaveREDS, Starburst, and Twix.
While that is a large variety of candy options, one thing that ISN’T offered? Full-size candy bars. Yup, each of the candy bar options on that list are snack-size offerings. However, given the fact that the candy is unlimited and guests can fill up their treat bags, as well as other carriers, including merch bags, backpacks, and pillowcases, we feel like everyone will get enough candy to fill their hearts’ content.
Beyond the treat trails, the Oogie Boogie Bash also offers the Frightfully Fun Parade, the Villains Grove themed-takeover of the Redwood Creek Challenge Train, Disney characters in special costumes, decorations, and Halloween-themed attraction overlays including Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark!
This year, the Oogie Boogie Bash began on August 17th. The after-hours party’s September and October dates include September 2nd, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, and 30th, and October 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 28th, and 31st.
