Disney World is officially getting spooky as the Headless Horseman rides down Main Street, U.S.A., and the sun begins to set. Mickey pumpkins line the streets, and you can just feel the Halloween spirit in the air.
Halloween has hit Magic Kingdom, and ever since, we haven’t stopped eating limited-time snacks. We headed to the Cheshire Cafe to try one of our favorite returning snacks to see if it still lives up to the hype.
Say hello to the Mummy Treat for $6.29. This is a flaky pastry with chocolate filling, topped with white icing stripes and sugar decor. This treat is only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
If you’ve had the classic Cheshire Cat Tail, you’re probably going to love this mummified take. It’s very similar but with a different icing on top.
This frosting is fluffier and lighter, and reminds us more of a whipped topping. We thought it tasted like marshmallow fluff, which is perfect for Halloween. The frosting is the more dominant flavor and almost overpowers the pastry, but it depends on what your preference is (I’m a frosting girl myself!).
The pastry was flaky but more on the dry side. It did have a decent amount of chocolate in it, but again, this is basically a Cheshire Cat Tail with a different topping. We did like the little eyes on top and how they melt in your mouth.
The Mummy Treat is only available during your after-hours Halloween party, so is it worth the stop? We’re not quite sure. We would probably skip this treat during those limited party hours and opt for something more unique, such as a Cheshire Cat Tail, during the day hours.
We’re trying as many Halloween treats as we can, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews to help you decide if it’s worth the stop.
