There is no shortage of options when it comes to dining in Disney World. Plus, when you include all the dining options at Disney Springs, it can start to feel a bit overwhelming. That is where we come in! We have eaten EVERYWHERE in Disney World, and we always want to make sure you are making the best dining choices on your trip.
We recently stopped by The Polite Pig at Disney Springs to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to Disney Springs? Find out here!
Atmosphere
The Polite Pig is located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs. It is a modern barbecue restaurant that serves up Florida-inspired cuisine. It is most known for its wood-fired options, plus an extensive collection of whiskies. Everything is served up in a fast, casual setting, and you can opt for indoor or outdoor seating.
The owners of this restaurant, James and Julie Petrakis (in partnership with Chef Brian Petrakis), are well known in the Orlando area for their restaurants The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder.
You will wait in line to place your order, then you can find your favorite seat inside the restaurant. Your food will be brought out to you, and a friendly employee will be around if there is anything else you need!
Let’s take a look at what is on the menu!
Menu
The Polite Pig focuses on modern barbecue, so let’s take a look at what’s on the menu! You can choose from shareables and salads.
There is a whole section of the menu dedicated to meals that are from the smoker.
You can also grab a sandwich and choose from a variety of market sides.
There are also a couple of options for dessert!
Don’t worry, there are also options for the kiddos!
There are also a few options for beverages, as well as a large variety of beer and wine.
You can also grab one of The Polite Pig’s small-batch cocktails.
They also offer some whiskey flights!
Now that we know what there is to look forward to, let’s dig in!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the BBQ Meatballs for $13. These are made with house brisket, cheddar grits, and Layla’s sweet BBQ sauce.
These were surprisingly tasty! They don’t look super appetizing, and we do feel like the amount of crispy onions was a bit of an overkill, but you can easily eat around them or brush them out if you’re not a fan. The meatballs didn’t look overly moist, but they were actually really juicy! They had a meaty flavor to them and they were coated in a sweet BBQ sauce that was slightly sticky.
Our reporter wasn’t a huge fan of grits, but we think these were cooked well. We didn’t taste much cheddar in them at all; they mostly just added a bit of almost creaminess and a soft texture. Our only complaint is that we wish it had fewer fried onions, but other than that, we enjoyed it!
For our entree, we got the Southern Pig Sandwich for $13. It is made with pulled pork, fennel-apple slaw, tangy mustard BBQ, and Duke’s mayo served with a pickle spear.
The pork was tender, and we loved the tangy slaw on top. It added a great crunch to balance the softness of the pork, and while we didn’t taste much BBQ sauce on top and wished there was more, the good news is they brought us out a selection of sauces, so we added some on top! We also wish the bun was a little fresher.
We couldn’t say no to some carbs and cheese, so for our first side, we got the Mac and Cheese for $6. It is made with aged cheddar and breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs on top are what really sold us, as they added the perfect amount of seasoning and crunch. The Mac & Cheese itself is a white cheddar, so it was creamy but not swimming in sauce, which we liked. It was a good portion and even had the crunchy baked cheese on top, which was wonderful!
We also got the Crispy Brussel Sprouts as a side for $6. It’s served with whiskey-caramel, and these were one of our favorite things! They were cooked really well and had a bit of crispiness on the outside while being soft and easy to eat in the middle. It is on the sweeter side, but it worked really well with the sprouts. These were some of the best Brussel Sprouts we’ve ever had, so we’ll definitely be back for them.
Finally, for dessert, we got the Blueberry Bread Pudding for $8. This was a generous portion, and you could easily share. It was crispy on the outside and nice and moist in the center. There were blueberries throughout the bread, and it was also served with some blueberry compote, making it overall very sweet, but also very delicious!
If you love bread pudding and blueberries, we couldn’t recommend it more, and we hope it stays on the menu for a while!

Never ate there, went in once, sat down at a 2 person tall table, waited almost a half hour, no one ever approached us for a beverage or dining order so we left. Seems busy so it must be good eating
Hi Ken. When you go in, there’s a counter where you order food and they give you a number that servers use to bring your order out to you. You do not order at your table. You can, however, always sit at the bar.
