When it comes to Disney rides, we have all of the tips, tricks, and hacks!

EPCOT
Over in EPCOT, things are heating up! We’re getting ready for the park’s Food and Wine Festival, and with that, we’ve been keeping an eye on things happening over there. That’s when we started getting a little worried about these EPCOT rides.
If you didn’t know, our entire team has been tracking Disney World’s wait times and ride closures for years. It’s helpful for trip planning, preparing for unexpected closures, and more. As we were checking out our weekly wait times breakdown for EPCOT, we started getting concerned.

EPCOT
We like to look across the last week at ride closures, and at first, it seemed pretty normal! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was down 3 times over the last week. No time down is ideal, but that’s not too bad. Gran Fiest Tour, Frozen Ever After, and Living with the Land were each down 4 times throughout the week. Again… not horrible.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Those last rides raised some red flags, sure, but it wasn’t until we started getting into these next 4 that we were getting a bit worried. Journey Into Imagination With Figment and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure both went down 6 times this past week! What is happening to our purple dragon and tiny chef that they need to take this many breaks?

Are you okay, Figment?
Those two weren’t the worst, though! Towards the front of the park, Journey of Water was down 7 times. This attraction, as well as others, can be unavailable for a number of reasons. Outdoor attractions can close due to weather. All attractions can close due to an emergency, ride malfunctions, or even something as simple as items falling onto the tracks. Disney rarely discloses why rides close, especially if it’s just for a short period of time during the day.

The ride that had us the most worried was the newly reopened Test Track! Test Track was down 20 times! While this might seem like a huge issue, it’s most likely growing pains. The ride just reopened on July 22nd, 2025, and it is expected that attractions take a moment to adjust when they open. (Sorry, but we are looking at you, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.)

Test Track
Each week, it’s expected for rides to go down. If you’re prepared for it, it won’t throw a wrench in your trip! If you’re using Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi-Pass service and your ride goes down, Disney will typically send an automatic redemption pass that you can save for when the ride reopens or you can use at a different attraction.

Lightning Lanes!
If you’re not using that service, you can approach it in a few ways. First, if it’s a very high priority, go talk with a Cast Member. Most likely, they won’t know exactly when the ride will reopen, but they will tell you if it’s only temporary or if you should “explore other options.” If they tell you to explore, trust them! That’s a good indicator the ride might be down for a while. If the ride is a super high priority for you and they say it’s only temporary, hang out around the entrance for a while.

Frozen Ever After
You also should gauge how much time you’re willing to spend waiting. If you really, really, really want to ride Cosmic Rewind, maybe wait 30 minutes and have lunch close by. If you don’t care about that ride, give it 10 to 15 minutes and then move on. While we love to skip a long line by hopping in right when the ride reopens, it isn’t worth wasting your park day.

Wait times can make or break your park day, but if you know how to handle them, you’ll have no problem! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more ride closure alerts and Disney news.
