Okay, so, yes, Disney World has a lot of construction going on right now — and it’s happening in three out of the four parks PLUS at some hotels. There are construction walls EVERYWHERE.
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, construction walls are up around what used to be Muppets Courtyard as Disney turns that area into a new Monsters, Inc. land. Plus, we’ll be seeing construction soon in Animation Courtyard as that area gets a complete overhaul. But some NEW construction walls have popped up in Toy Story Land…and what do they mean?
We recently visited Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios and found ourselves surprised when we saw some colorful construction walls up near the restrooms in that land, across from the walls in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Now, this has nothing to do with all the other construction going on in Hollywood Studios, so what is this all about?
We’re eyeing this spot because it’s pretty small, and we’re trying to figure out exactly what could fit in there. Of course, the first thing we thought of was a snack stand or dining spot of some kind, especially as there has been some seating added around that area recently. Now, we don’t know that this is a FACT, but we’re (not so) secretly manifesting a new snack stand into being built here.
Hey, maybe it could be a dining spot similar to Ice Cold Hydraulics, just a spot to quickly grab a beverage and snack, although we hope we get to see some unique snacks and drinks here. We love Woody’s Lunch Box, but it can get pretty busy there! It would be nice to have another dining option in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, don’t you think? For now, though, what’s behind those walls remains a mystery.

Whatever it is, I hope it comes with SEATING. There isn’t (or wasn’t) a single place in the whole darn area to sit down except in the table service restaurant when we were last there. There’s all kinds of fencing that could be updated with some fixtures to provide some seating pretty easily. And if it can’t be, then take out the fencing and put in SEATS. I love Toy Story land, but just thinking about going into that area makes me tired. Not because I want to spend a lot of time sitting, but if you need to pause for one of the hundreds of reasons that you need to use MDE in the parks, or get something from your bag, or discuss something with your group, or just rest for two minutes with a beverage or a snack, it’s impossible to do that comfortably in TSL.
