A lot of things are closed right now in Disney World, and we’re here to keep you updated on everything. In Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for a huge refurbishment. In Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close soon to get some new updates. Entire lands have also closed throughout the parks to make way for new lands and rides.
Closures are also affecting Disney World hotels. That includes Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, where a pool will be closing soon for refurbishment.
According to the Disney World website, the Cabanas leisure pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be closed from August 17th through August 24th for routine maintenance. This is not the main pool at the resort, but one of the quieter pools.
In the meantime, other pools at the resort will be open to guests, including the Lost City of Cibola pool as well as the Casitas and Ranchos leisure pools. The Lost City of Cibola is the resort’s main pool, which is part of the Dig Site, a complex of pools themed around Mayan ruins. The centerpiece of the main pool is a 50-f0ot pyramid, but it also has a 123-foot waterslide.
The Dig Site also has the largest hot tub in Disney World and can fit up to 22 people. Plus, you’ll find activities around the pool, Siestas pool bar, a white sand volleyball court, the Iguana arcade, and a kiddie pool in the complex. However, this does mean that this area will generally be more crowded than the leisure pools.
Of course, if you’re staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort or any other Disney World hotel, you can also take advantage of free water park tickets for your arrival day.
