REVIEW: Does A Famous Disneyland CHEESEBURGER Snack Live Up to the Hype?

Isn’t it just THE BEST when a fan-favorite Disney treat returns to the parks?! That’s exactly what happened over at Disney California Adventure, where we visited to try the returning Cheeseburger Bao!

Not too dissimilar to the uber-popular Cheeseburger Pods from Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Cheesburger Bao has a lot of the same ingredients.

Sometimes offered at Disney California Adventure’s festivals, the Cheeseburger Bao is available RIGHT NOW at select food carts around the park. We picked up ours at the snack cart by Incredicoaster. This $9 snack is made with Thousand Island and pickle & tomato relish. However, we have to note that our snack was not served with the relish.

We were kind of disappointed that it didn’t come as advertised, but what really matters is the taste.

The first taste you get is from the plastic cheese on top. If you’re a fan of plastic cheese, that should make you smile. If not…you may be put off. The inside has a light and tangy pickle taste, followed by the seasoned ground beef. As for the bun, we really liked its fluffy texture and subtle sweet flavor.

The Thousand Island comes on the side and adds a bit of a creamy and tangy taste when dipping the bao.

Overall, we still think the Cheeseburger Bao is a yummy snack. If you dig cheeseburgers in general, give this a try!

Our major gripes include not getting a bao that looks as advertised (we might’ve just been unlucky), we don’t find this snack particularly filling, and it’s a bit overpriced. Still, we’d probably get this again.
