Did you know that there’s a new restaurant coming to the Disney World resort?
Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is coming to the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel on July 26th, with a soft opening on the 24th and 25th, and we just got a sneak peek at some of the menu items that are coming to this steakhouse. Here are just a few of the options you can expect to grab at this new spot!
Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is a reimagined modern take on the quintessential American steakhouse featuring premium cuts of beef, seafood infused with global flavors, delicious signature desserts, as well as world-class beverage offerings. We got a sneak peek at some of the dishes that will be offered when the restaurant opens on July 26th, 2025. Keep in mind that these aren’t the actual sizes of the dish you will get, they are small samples. You won’t just be getting a quarter-sized piece of fish for $42, we promise!
Let’s kick things off with some drinks! We got to try a few of the drinks, including Polite Company which is on the menu for $14. This is a non-alcoholic option that is made with Lyre’s Italian orange, lemon, passion fruit, and Fever Tree ginger beer. This drink is very citrusy and tastes kind of like an alcoholic fruit punch with a bit of froth to it.
We also tried the Hugo Spritz which is an alcoholic option. It costs $16 and is made with St. Germain elderflower, mint, cucumber, and prosecco. This drink was lighter and spritzy. It reminded us a bit of a Mojito as it had a lot of mint flavor in it.
Next up was the Ring of Fire, which you can get for $16. It is made with Ilegal mezcal, Aperol, lime, pineapple, ginger, aleppo, and togarashi. You will have to like a smoky mezcal drink to like this one. It is smoke forward without being overwhelmingly smoky, but it still does have some fruity flavors to it. We also tasted a lot of the ginger and pineapple.
Now, let’s try some appetizers! We started off with the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops. This dish features Bing cherry, turnip, Marcona almond, and a madeira emulsion. This will cost $24. The scallop was cooked well and was wonderfully tender and buttery. The sweetness of the cherry balances wonderful with the almond flavor. It is wrapped in crispy bacon with a bit of chew to it, and we could eat these ALL day!
We also got a chance to try Michael Mina’s Tuna Tartare. It is made with quail egg, pine nut, mint, Asian pear, garlic, trio of chili peppers, and habanero-sesame oil. It is on the menu for $24. While we enjoyed this appetizer, it wasn’t our favorite that we tried. It has a much milder flavor compared to the other dishes we tried. However, if you are a fan of tuna tartare, we think you would really enjoy this!
Now, let’s get a sneak peek at some of the entrees. We got to try the Miso Broiled Seabass. It features baby squash, shishito pepper, and ginger dashi. You can get this for $42. We were also so impressed with this dish! The fish was buttery, and it had a thin layer of sweetness on it. It falls of the fork it was so tender. Another hit in our opinion!
Up next, was the Slow Roasted Prime Rib. This dish is limited availability and features a blue cheese popover, fresh horseradish, and black truffle au jus. It is on the menu for $58. We are on a roll so far, as the prime rib was also fantastic. The blue cheese popover and horseradish added a nice zing to this dish. The prime rib was cooked well; it was tender while still having a bit of a chew to it. We were licking our plates on this dish.
We also got to try a Grilled Mushroom with Bourbon Sauce; however, we didn’t spot this one on the menu just yet. You can grab Roasted Mushrooms with Garlic-Herb Butter as a side! The mushroom we tried was covered in bourbon sauce and the mushroom had a wonderful char on it. With the bourbon sauce on top, you don’t get a lot of the mushroom flavor, so it almost ends up tasting like a soft piece of steak.
Finally, for dessert, we got to try the Bourbon Steak Chocolate Bar. It is made with peanut butter crunch and chewy chocolate brownie. It is on the menu for $15. We finished our meal with a bang! This had a peanut butter center and was surrounded by chocolate. It was soft and creamy, and the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate.
We’re looking forward to coming back and trying out even more of what this restaurant has to offer! We recommend making reservations sooner rather than later, because we’ve got a feeling this will be a pretty popular spot.
