Disney has just released a new YouTube video that reveals a brand-new character has been created for the Disney Starlight parade! Meet Whimsy!
Whimsy is made of starlight, and appears on a new train float in the parade — it’s the parade’s finale! Disney Imagineers describe him as “childlike, youthful, and happy.”

The latest episode of “We Call It Imagineering” on the Disney Imagineering YouTube channel gives us a glimpse into Whimsy — we learn he can dance, and he was inspired by vintage Disney animation — specifically Silly Symphonies!

Disney’s NEW nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom — Disney Starlight — debuts the evening of July 20th! DFB will be there to cover the first time the parade rolls down Main Street U.S.A., and we’ll bring it all to you, of course!
