Your pups are in for a literal treat!
We’re usually on the lookout for tasty treats for ourselves, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t spoiling our lovable canine pals! Most people know about the famous Puppaccinos at Starbucks, but did you know there are actually TONS of restaurants that do something similar?
Puppaccinos are a FREE small espresso cup of plain whipped cream that you can get at Starbucks. While this might be the most popular version of this treat, as it turns out, there are at least 18 other restaurant chains that do something similar!
We’ve put together a list of some notable chains that offer something similar to the Puppaccino, and they are as follows:
- Baskin-Robbins: Pup Cup (Complimentary small soft-serve)
- Braum’s: Pup Cup ($1 small cup of ice cream, typically vanilla soft serve, topped with a dog treat)
- Bruster’s Ice Cream: Pup Cup (Free doggie sundae)
- Caribou Coffee: Pup Cup (Free 4 oz)
- Chick‑fil‑A: Pup Cup (Whipped cream or IceDream in a small portion. Availability varies)
- Cold Stone Creamery: Pup Cup (Complimentary small portion of sweet cream ice cream or whipped cream served with a dog biscuit)
- Culver’s: Pup Cup (Vanilla soft‑serve or whipped‑cream cup topped with a milk bone. Price varies)

- Dutch Bros: Pup Cup (Free whipped cream made of nonfat milk and cream in a doggy cup, and sometimes topped with a biscuit)
- McDonald’s: Pup Cup (Off‑menu small cup of whipped cream or soft serve)
- Rita’s Italian Ice: Pup Cup (Vanilla custard and dog biscuit)
- Salt & Straw: Pup Cups (“Smooth coconut ice cream envelopes bits of crisp apples and carrots, with sweet potato ribbons swirling throughout. The ultimate ‘treat’. Available in 12-pack for nationwide shipping.”)
- Shake Shack: Poochi-ini (Vanilla custard with peanut‑butter sauce and dog biscuits. Price varies)
- Sonic: Wag Cup (Whipped cream or soft serve in a small cup that’s often free with purchase)
- Tim Hortons: Timbits Pup Cup (Free and served with a bite-sized donut)
- Wendy’s: Pup Cup (Kid-sized Frosty for dogs)
- Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt: Pup Cup (A small cup of frozen yogurt or whipped cream. Some locations offer a froyo-filled dog treat)
It’s worth noting that these restaurants don’t all offer Pup Cups at every location. We definitely recommend calling your local store in advance before making the trek, only to find that your spot does not offer them.
It’s also important to note that not all Pup Cups are free, and some might have pricing changes that aren’t reflected in this list. Again, it never hurts to call ahead of time.
These are just some of the restaurants that offer some form of a Pup Cup! Let us know of more restaurants that we might’ve missed, and continue to follow us here at DFB for more fun tidbits!
