We’ve got some BIG news to tell you about, Disney fans!
Disney is in the middle of MULTIPLE construction projects in Magic Kingdom. Prepare to see “Please pardon our pixie dust” signs EVERYWHERE. Now, most of the time, Disney keeps its construction work behind walls. However, behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, it looks like Disney is clearing land for its new Villains Land, and we have a NEW LOOK at the latest progress!
Thanks to our friends @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter), we have a NEW LOOK at the land being cleared near Magic Kingdom. See that dirt patch? We have a good feeling that it’s about to be the new Villains Land! Disney previously announced that a Villains Land is coming to Magic Kingdom, and it looks like construction is underway NOW. In fact, Disney previously stated, “We have Imagineers in place right now all around the world because everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving.”

The land is located to the West of Magic Kingdom, and you can see that there is some work being done near Floridian Way as well.

Here’s a handy side-by-side of the CURRENT progress versus the ANTICIPATED final product. Looking good, eh?

Ta-da!
The Villains Land will introduce two new attractions to the parks, along with new shopping and dining options. In regards to the new land, Disney shared, “Guests will be able to venture Beyond Big Thunder Mountain into an all-new land dedicated to Disney Villains. Inspired by the wicked characters fans know and loathe, the multi-acre expansion will include two major attractions, plus dining and shopping. Walt Disney Imagineering is pushing creative boundaries to dark and mysterious levels to bring this new, first-of-its-kind land to life.”

This massive new Villain-themed land, combined with the also-announced Cars expansion coming to the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, is the largest expansion in the history of Disney World’s original theme park.

We’ll be on the lookout for all the latest news from this upcoming construction project, as well as others, because Magic Kingdom isn’t the only park going through a major construction project. Muppets Courtyard is in the process of becoming the new Monsters, Inc. Land, and Animal Kingdom is slowly but surely turning DinoLand U.S.A. into Pueblo Esperanza.

Well, I just turned 62.
I will most probably be dead by the time Disney opens up this new land!
Hey Mark, I’m 68 and I may be dead too by the time Villains Land opens. But I’m hopeful!
