This year, the park is turning 70 years old! That means new snacks, new entertainment, and lots of other changes! This new change might make some big changes to your plans.

We love Disneyland Park! It’s the original Disney park and, even as it changes over the years, it still has so many of the classic attractions that made the park famous. One of the most famous attractions is Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a slow-moving boat ride that takes you through the time of the pirates as they pillage and plunder while searching for Captain Jack Sparrow. This ride is super popular, which can lead to some pretty hefty lines throughout New Orleans Square.

Now, this famous Disneyland attraction is changing again because it was previously added to the Lightning Lane Multi Pass system until June 30th, 2025. Now, Disney has confirmed this line will return to a standby-only line on July 1st, 2025.

If you haven’t been to Disneyland in a while, it’s important to remember that its Lightning Lane Multi Pass system is a bit different from Disney World’s. Disneyland’s Lightning Lane System is a paid system, similar to Disney World’s, but that’s where the similarities really end!

Guests can select one ride at a time, and you can make your selections as you enter the theme park (unlike Disney World, where you can prebook 3 attractions). We’re sad to see such an iconic attraction removed from the Lightning Lane list.
