A LOT is going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We just witnessed the arrival of two brand-new shows (The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After). We also just said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard as it was closed recently to make way for a new Monsters, INC. land.
Well, as you may know, the Muppets will be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster sometime in 2026, and we’ve just spotted a new permit that could hint at future work to get ready for the coaster’s closure and re-theming.
R0ck ‘n’ Roller Coaster isn’t set to close until 2026, but this new permit is for a trailer that already exists near the attraction and is likely getting ready to be used for Imagineering as they begin work next year on re-theming the ride. The permit is for “general construction,” which could basically mean anything, but it’s likely the crew is just going to set that trailer up and have it ready for when the real work begins on the ride.
This is the first of what will likely be many permits for the ride, but we’re still at least six or seven months out before actual construction will begin. Disney hasn’t revealed many details about the new ride, except that it will star the Muppets and they will be will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” Believe it or not, this will be the first ACTUAL ride starring the Muppets!
Disney has promised the ride will offer “laughter, screams, and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.” The company also teased new Muppets merchandise on Sunset Boulevard. Okay, WE ARE STOKED.

We LOVE the Muppets!
Of course, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more hints about what the new Muppets ride will be all about, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
