We Didn't Think We Could Get MORE Excited for the NEW Hollywood Studios Attraction…Until Disney Announced THIS

If you haven’t heard the news, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a brand-new show — and it’s got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty!

Disney just revealed a sneak peek of what will be coming under the sea this May! The new show will be called The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, and fans are going to LOVE it! Here are all the latest details Disney has given us.

Disney posted on their Instagram handle @wdwannualpassholders, giving fans a tease of what was on the horizon for the new show. Fans were going wild in the comments, loving the little hints of what to expect with this brand-new stage show! Disney had a fun style of doing the video, using props to reveal different announcements for the show.

At the beginning of the video, the treasure chest opens, revealing the title of the show (which we already knew about). Then a bottle was opened, and out came a note. The note inside the bottle was the first tease, listing some of the characters that will be in the show. This included Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula, Sebastian, Flounder, and Max! This is expected as they are the main and supporting characters, but confirmation is always exciting.

They then followed that up with an even BIGGER announcement! Ariel’s sisters will be appearing on this stage for the first time ever! This will add a unique, fun, and spectacular element to the stage show, and we can’t wait to see what this looks like. These characters were not in the previous version of this show, which closed in 2020.

Disney reminded us of some other things that would be in the show. As previously announced, Disney said the show will be using high-tech digital puppets. We’re sure this will blow fans away, and we can’t wait to see what this entails. We’ve heard about this change before, and we’re looking forward to seeing it!

The show has so much to offer on top of their announcements made today. We’re talking new musical numbers, breathtaking visuals, and of course, some stuff that’s yet to be seen. We don’t know about you, but it looks like The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is now a Hollywood Studios must-do experience! Add this to an already busy Hollywood day! The show officially opens on May 27th.

The new Little Mermaid show will be joined by the all-new Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show, which will be opening on the same day. We’re waiting to hear some more details, but the show will feature some of our favorite Disney villains — including Cruella, Maleficent, Captain Hook, and more!
