From Universal’s huge new investment in Epic Universe to Disney’s $60 billion expansion, companies are confident in their Orlando-area theme parks. And now, another Florida theme park is prepared to invest in new projects.

Welcome to Disney World!
The Orlando Sentinel reported that Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced plans to spend about $40 million on new theme park projects and expand Adventure Island water park.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay president, Jeff Davis, said, “The additions and improvements will be made across our infrastructure, operations, staff recruiting, equipment, as well as adding to our aesthetics with more beautiful gardens and plant life,” adding, “New animal arrivals are also in the plans, such as the reimaged meerkat habitat set to open this summer, to inspire awe and wonder for all who visit.”

Part of the $40 million investment will also go towards the Wild Oasis at Jungala attraction, which is currently set to debut in May. This new attraction is “North America’s most immersive, kid-friendly adventure realm.” Wild Oasis will feature capybaras, squirrel monkeys, tropical birds, and giant anteaters, along with a 35-foot drop tower, a canopy climb, and an interactive splash pad. This expansion will add TONS of new experiences for families!

Look out for some improvements to the animal habitats around the park, like a climbing structure for chimpanzees, a new barn for the giraffes, and accessibility features for the park’s senior Asian elephants.

Additionally, Busch Gardens confirmed a new element at Adventure Island called Castaway Falls, a multilevel play and splash area. According to the Orlando Sentinel, there will be future announcements on “new thrills and interactive events.” We can’t wait to learn more!
