Universal Orlando Annual Passholders’ Epic Universe early previews officially kicked off on April 17th. Now, we’ve already been to a media event to check it out, but we’re Passholders, too, so what can we say? We are BACK!
Obviously, we can’t get enough of Epic Universe, but today is a little different from when we were last here. For starters, early preview tickets for Annual Passholders sold out for multiple dates, so we had to see how that impacts crowds in the new park on the first day of these previews!
When we entered the park this morning, we took a look around Celestial Park. So as far as we can tell, it doesn’t really look all that crowded.
Even as we walked further into Celestial Park, we were surprised that we still weren’t seeing huge crowds.
However, once we reached the portal for Super Nintendo World, the crowds seemed to pick up a bit. But the escalators up to the land weren’t completely full.
Even How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk was pretty quiet this morning. We’re thinking that maybe Universal is seriously limiting tickets for early previews so everyone has a not-so-crowded experience.
Later, though, we noticed things were starting to pick up and get a little busier. One thing we’ve noticed about Epic Universe is that there are a lot of open spaces, so even when it is busy, it might not feel too bad. We also noticed that some rides were starting to get some pretty high wait times. When we first walked into Super Nintendo World this morning, the line for Mine-Cart Madness was at 20 minutes. Just a little while later, that line was at 135 minutes. OUCH.
So that’s an idea of what an overall sold-out early preview day looks like in Epic Universe. We’ll be covering even MORE Epic Universe stuff, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
