There is a lot happening in Disney World right now!

EPCOT
We are getting a major Magic Kingdom expansion, Hollywood Studios has two new shows coming soon, and Animal Kingdom just said goodbye to an opening day attraction for a new attraction coming this year. Not only are the parks changing, the prices are too which normally means a price increase. That’s why we were so shocked (and thrilled) that it somehow got cheaper to eat at one of our favorite EPCOT restaurants!
EPCOT has some iconic attractions but if we’re being honest, it’s really known for it’s food and drinks! The EPCOT Festivals, Drinking Around the World, and EPCOT snack staples have solidified it in the world of theme park food and given us several of our favorite Disney dining spots.

EPCOT
One of our favorite spots in EPCOT is Takumi Tei in the Japan Pavilion! This spot is considered a Signature Fine Dining Experience in Disney World (think along the lines of Victoria and Albert’s) so it’s a pretty pricey spot. That being said, we are huge fans of this sit-down dining experience!

Takumi-Tei
This dining experience offers 2 omakase menus starting at $250 — until now. For a limited time, you can get a $150 semi-course for both the Omnivorous Course and the Plant-based Course! For a Disney Signature dining experience, we think this is a great deal.

Hassun
For the Kiku option, the sem course includes 3-4 items. The Ichijyu-Sansai is sea bream sushi with kombujime, pickled radish, egg york vinegar, and chives. It also has deep-fried tofu with white miso broth and salted cherry blossom and seared bonito with ponzu jelly, chopped chives, and shiso flower.

Ichijyu-Sansai
Next is the Hassun which is 8 crafted selections. The Shii-Zakana is an option for wagyu steak with a selection of alternative sides and finally, the Gohan-Mono is included. It’s simmered A5 Wagyu chirashi-don with shichimi served with red miso soup or bluefin tuna and homemade pickled white radish chirashi-sushi with chopped shiso leaf and wasabi served with red miso soup.

That wagyu!
For the Hasu menu (the plant-based semi-course), you get 4 items as well. The Ichijyu-Sansai is temari sushi made of spinach, pickled radish, and egg yolk vinegar with eep-fried tofu, white miso soup, and salted cherry blossoms. There is also wakakusa sesame tofu accompanied by salted cherry blossoms and dark soy vinegar jelly. It also includes Hassun with the same description as above and Shii-Zakana. The Shii Zakana is vegetable tempura and carrot chips, mini zucchini, pumpkin, white mushroom, and hajikami.

Menu
Finally, the Gohan-Mono is vegetables with chirashi sushi, soy sauce jelly, and white sesame seeds. It’s also served with red miso soup. We have been impressed with this restaurant each time we’ve stopped by so we are excited to see this more affordable menu (compared to the original) for a limited time!

Gohanmono
Online Disney shared, “Chef selections may include seasonal sashimi, crafted hassun, prepared inaniwa udon noodles, deep-fried tofu, mini zucchini tempura and more.” If you want to enjoy this spot on your next vacation but don’t want to worry about the stress of these hard-to-get reservations, consider using a travel agent!
We highly recommend Small World Vacations to help you with all of your Disney planning needs (and the might be able to save you some money along the way!) It’s a great way to make your vacation even more stress free. When it comes to Takumi Tei’s new menu, Disney didn’t give a date as to when this semi-course will go away. We personally hope it’s successful enough that it sticks around for a while! As always, keep following DFB for all of your Disney planning tips and tricks.
