STAR WARS DROIDS ARE REAL! We’ve seen them in person at Disneyland Resort, wandering around, dancing, beeping, and bopping. It’s the BEST!  But these little cuties are on the move — Disney just announced its beloved BDX droids are coming to THREE new locations.

We’ve been learning a LOT about the future of the Disney parks lately! Disney executives (and even a MAJOR Marvel celebrity) are coming at us LIVE from the 2025 SXSW Conference in Texas to share new technology, new announcements, and new stories, and we just got an EPIC update about our favorite little Star Wars droids. 

Disney just confirmed that its BDX droids will appear in the new Mandalorian movie! Along with this update, we learned that the droids will start appearing at Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Get a first look below!

We don’t have the exact dates quite yet, but we do know that these droids will arrive “later this year.” That puts the timeline within 2025!

We expect the droids to appear as they do currently in Disneyland. In Disney World, you’ll be able to find these guys at Galaxy’s Edge, and since these robots are super high-tech, you’ll probably find a Cast Member nearby to keep an eye on their droids.

OK, what the heck is a BDX droid? Well, these are free-roaming robots that can emote, dance, and even throw little robot tantrums. It’s SO fun to see in person!

Look how cute!

Disney released its first video of them on social media back in November of 2023, and since then, these droids have really had some fun in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. We’ve even spotted them on the Disney Wish!

We can’t wait to see these droids in Disney World! We have a feeling they are going to be a POPULAR new addition. But that isn’t all that was announced for Galaxy’s Edge at SXSW. We also learned when the Mandalorian and Grogu will be joining a new mission on Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. The duo will be debuting in their new mission on May 22nd, 2026, the same day the new movie The Mandalorian and Grogu is released.
