Universal just released a new video and it’s got us HYPED for Epic Universe!
Okay, technically we were hyped about this new theme park a long, long time ago, but now that the opening date of May 22nd, 2025 is getting closer, we can’t help but be excited. Five new lands and a ton of rides will be opening with this park, but based on this new video, there could be plans for even MORE!
Universal’s NEW Epic Universe theme park will be home to five new lands, each one more exciting than the last: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
But, according to Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, the company is “already planning for the next thing at Epic.” In a new video, Irwin shared that new attractions have been planned for each of the parks at Universal Orlando — including Epic Universe.
Other than all the new attractions opening at Epic Universe soon, we also know that Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is slated to close at Universal Studios later this fall. As of now, no announcements have been made about what could replace this ride, but it’s clear that Universal has big plans — not only for its newest park, Epic Universe, but Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, too.
Universal has called Epic Universe “its most ambitious theme park yet.” In a press release, the company announced, “Epic Universe will present a level of theme park immersion and innovation that is unmatched – transporting guests to expansive worlds featuring more than 50 awe-inspiring attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences that come together to create an unforgettable adventure that is nothing short of epic.”
The new theme park will include five themed lands with new attractions, restaurants, shopping, and more. We’ve scoped out the newest updates on the construction of the park and have already stayed in one of the newest Universal hotels to put us as close to the action as possible!
We’re just over two months away from the official opening of Epic Universe, which means that team member previews have begun AND the park has been added to the Universal Orlando app!

In the meantime, we’ll be bringing you ALL the Epic Universe updates you need to know about ahead of the park’s opening. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss any theme park news!
