3 Game-Changing Updates For The Disney Parks This Week

There is always news going on with the Walt Disney Company!

Disney World has been busy lately with rare character appearances, sneak peeks of new shows, and more! Disneyland takes the cake for news this week, and we’re going to break down the three biggest news stories of the week.

It’s been a big week for Disneyland with major updates to iconic attractions, food news, and more! Let’s get right into it. First up, “it’s a small world” is changing!

The classic Disney attraction is getting a new verse at the end of the song! The loved (and sometimes loathed) song’s new verse goes like this:

“Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind

And the love we give makes us humankind

Through our vast wondrous land

When we stand hand in hand

It’s a small world after all.”

The new verse will begin playing on July 17th, 2025. The new verse was written by Richard M. Sherman “in his final Disney contribution,” and you can even watch a short film, “The Last Verse,” which celebrates the “timeless connection and hope” behind the classic song that will be playing in the Main Street Cinema.

Next up, a bit of bad news on the Disneyland front is that the attraction “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” has now been delayed! The show was originally intended to open on May 16th, 2025.

The show will now open on July 17th, 2025 which is the park’s 70th anniversary. Disney says this attraction will open alongside new Main Street Opera House exhibits where the show will be playing. The show is the first time we’ll be seeing a Walt Disney animatronic. The show will walk you through the story of his life using remastered audio and footage.

Finally, Disney California Adventure is wrapping up the news thanks to the Food and Wine Festival! The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival menus have finally arrived, and we are hungry.

There are tons of new items including the Birria Mac and Cheese, Western BBQ Burger Bao, Musubi Fried Rice, and more! The festival takes place throughout Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and Pixar Place Hotel. The festival runs from February 28th through April 21st, 2025.
