Disney has big plans for movies in 2025. For starters, the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Captain America: Brave New World just released. The live-action Snow White is set to come out this year, too. Then you’ve got ANOTHER Marvel movie, Thunderbolts*, coming out after that. Plus the live-action Lilo & Stitch is going to be HUGE.
But then there’s a third Marvel movie releasing, Fantastic Four: First Steps, followed by the Freaky Friday sequel, as well as Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire & Ash. However, the next Pixar movie, Elio, just had its release date pushed back from June 13th to June 20th, according to Deadline.
Elio was initially scheduled to release on June 13th, but Disney has decided to push that back to June 20th. This will keep Elio from having to compete with the live-action How To Train Your Dragon, which is set to release on June 13th. Instead, it will go head-to-head with the horror film 28 Years Later.
Elio is about a young alien-obsessed boy, who gets beamed up to an interplanetary organization because he’s been misidentified as Earth’s leader.
However, other movies on Disney’s slate for 2025 have also been changed, with one untitled movie set to release on September 12th and another untitled movie set to release on January 16th removed from the schedule completely. One “Untitled Disney Movie” will release October 24th.
Disney also has 20th Century Fox movies set to release this year: Ella McCay, starring Woody Harrelson and Rebecca Hall, which premieres on September 9th. The Sam Raimi horror film, Send Help is set to come out on January 30th, 2026.
